Для грамотного проектирования, правильного монтажа и безопасной эксплуатации различных трубопроводов важны следующие показатели концентрических и эксцентрических бесшовных приварных переходных соединителей:
размеры: диаметры, длина, толщина стенки (в мм) нужны для точной стыковки труб, учёта гидравлики, прочностных характеристик;
масса переходов (в кг) учитывается при расчёте допустимых нагрузок, подборе автотранспорта
На вес детали, кроме размерных параметров, также влияют особенности конструкции, исполнение, марка стали (углеродистая, с различным вхождением легирующих добавок).

В таблице стандарта расчётный вес связан с диаметром (условный, наружный), длиной, толщиной, номинальным давлением и степенью агрессивности перемещаемых составов.
